JSW Steel Signed Long-Term Agreement with Allegheny Technologies Inc.

The geographic proximity and strategic nature of the partnership is poised to bring significant benefits to both the parties.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): JSW Steel USA- the American subsidiary of JSW Steel Ltd. announced that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Allegheny Technologies, Inc. (ATI) to hot-roll majority of carbon steel slabs produced by it into hot rolled coils at ATI facility.

According to the agreement, the carbon steel manufactured at JSW Steel USA’s Mingo Junction, Ohio facility will be converted into hot rolled coils at ATI’s Hot Rolling and Processing Facility (HRPF) in Brackenridge, PA. This will expand JSW Steel USA’s product portfolio and ensure supply of high quality hot rolled products to its customers. The geographic proximity and strategic nature of the partnership is poised to bring significant benefits to both the parties.

Commenting on the new deal, Parth Jindal, Director, JSW USA noted that the agreement with ATI testifies the company’s vision of being a premium supplier of steel products. Meantime, Mark Bush, CEO of JSW USA said that the collaboration will help to lower its conversion costs. Furthermore, it will enable the company to operate its electric arc furnace at the most optimal volumes and efficiency. It aligns with JSW Steel USA’s long-term growth strategy, he added.
