Steel Trade Body Announced 2020 Sustainability Champions
For a company to become eligible to compete for the Award, it must necessarily publish a sustainability-related report.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) announced the 2020 Steel Sustainability Champions. A total of nine companies were honoured for their commendable work in demonstration of their commitment to sustainable development during the year.
The 2020 Steel Sustainability Champions are JFE Steel Corporation, JSW Steel Limited, Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK Group), Outokumpu Oyj, Severstal (PAO), Tata Steel Europe, Tata Steel Limited, Tenaris and Ternium.
This is the fourth year of awards. Tata Steel Europe, Tata Steel Limited and Tenaris have been the champions in all the four years. JSW Steel Limited and Ternium are recognised for the third consecutive year. This is the first time that JFE Steel Corporation, Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK Group), Outokumpu Oyj and Severstal (PAO) have been selected as sustainability champions.
For a company to become eligible to compete for the Award, it must necessarily publish a sustainability-related report. In addition, it should be shortlisted in at least one of the five worldsteel Steelie Awards or must be recognized in the Safety and Health Recognition Programme. The Champions will be presented with certificates at the April Special General Meeting of the Board of Members.
