DS Smith Targets to Double Output from Kielce Facility

The investment will enable DS Smith to meet growing customer demands, he added.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): European packaging major DS Smith announced major investment to boost capabilities of its Kielce, Poland plant. Upon completion of the expansion project, the factory will cover an area of 5,700 square metres. Also, it intends to double production of Point of Sale stands from the facility.

The investment covers extension of the entire factory area to include a completely new hall and office rooms. The hall area is equipped LED lighting, so as to save energy. It also features an automatic line for removing waste from cutting machines.

Aneta Szkoła - Display Plant Manager said that the expansions at the facility will more than double the factory space. This will help the company carry out multiple projects at the same time. Over the next four years, the production from the plant will be doubled. The investment will enable DS Smith to meet growing customer demands, he added.

The new factory area will accommodate cardboard processing machines with high-quality of offset printing. It will be equipped with additional machines in line with the investment plan for the coming years.

The DS Smith Kielce plant has been serving leading brands in the FMCG, toys and industrial sectors for more than a decade now.

As the next major step in expansion of its Polish operations, DS Smith has already announced plans to build a new production plant at Belchatow in Lodz province.
