TMS International to Acquire Cleveland-based Stein Mill Service Assets
The acquisition of the mill service firm with a long and distinguished history of service will further strengthen TMS’ American footprint, he added.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based TMS International announced that it has acquired the business and assets of Cleveland, Ohio-based Stein LLC and Stein Steel Mill Services LLC.
Announcing the decision, Raymond Kalouche, TMS President and CEO said that the company is excited to welcome Stein into the organization. It complements the company’s existing services offered to world class steelmakers across the U.S, thus making it an excellent fit. The acquisition of the mill service firm with a long and distinguished history of service will further strengthen TMS’ American footprint, he added.

Around 500 employees of the family-owned business will now join TMS. It plans to initially operate Stein under its current brand name. It will continue to provide services to customers in Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
Stein is a leading provider of high-quality services to steel producers across the U.S. It provides steel mill processing services to metal producers. These services include slag removal and metallics reclamation, scrap handling, scrap management, recycling, raw material screening, material handling and maintenance and repair services.
In terms of revenue, TMS International is the largest provider of outsourced industrial services to North American steel mills.
