SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading packaging supplier group Guilliin announced its collaboration with innovative plastics recycling scheme. The association with ‘Prevented Ocean Plastic’ is expected to help the company boost the amount of reclaimed materials used in its plastic products.
By joining the partnership, the company aims to create awareness among public that plastic, if collected, sorted and recycled, is not a waste, but a resource. Apart from being a commitment to protect the environment from harmful impacts of plastics, the partnership also offers employment opportunities for local communities by associating with various stages of the project. Furthermore, it will also result in development of recycling infrastructure and logistics facilities, the company noted.

‘Prevented Ocean Plastic’ is a certified and fully traceable recycling that is collected from at-risk coastlines for ocean plastic pollution. The program draws plastic away from the waterways that feed into the ocean. The plastic collected by small entrepreneurs are transported to aggregation centers. The plastic procurement process is audited and certified by OceanCycle- an independent body that guarantees product traceability and ethical standards.
