KSC Emerged as Iran's Largest Steel Exporter
As reported by IRNA, the steel exports by the country totalled around 7.33 million tonnes (Mt) during the year.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The exports of steel products surged higher significantly in Iran during the calendar year that ended March 19, when compared to the year before that, said the country’s official news agency- the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
As reported by IRNA, the steel exports by the country totalled around 7.33 million tonnes (Mt) during the year. This is significantly higher by 27% when matched with the previous year, said the latest statistics published by Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade. The steel ingot production by 10 major companies recorded 5% year-on-year surge to total 20.226 Mt. The output of other steel products by these companies totalled 13.38 Mt, 6% higher than the previous year.

As per data, Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) emerged as the county’s largest exporter of steel products. The exports by the company totalled 1.83 Mt, recording year-on-year decline by 16%. In second place was Mobarakeh Steel Company, whose exports surged higher by 65% year-on-year to total 1.45 Mt.
The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) foresees 16% surge in steel ingot production to total 23.426 Mt in the current year.
