BEIJING (Scrap Monster): China's iron ore production reached a record high in September, as per the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics.
The higher iron ore price encouraged smaller private miners to supply more material.
The increased output did not influence the import volume as the domestic iron ore owns lower grade which about 15% of iron content compared to the average 60% of the materials from Australia and Brazil.
In addition, the output in September was 129.06 million tons, rose by 11% month-on-month and increasing by 20% year-on-year.
In the first nine months of this year, the country's iron ore output totaled 968 million tons, increased by 17% year-on-year.
