China Crude Steel production declines in Aug: NBS

China's crude steel production declined by 1.7% year-on-year to 58.703 million tons in August this year and decreased by 4.84% month-on-month, as per the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS).

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): China's crude steel production declined by 1.7% year-on-year to 58.703 million tons in August this year and decreased by 4.84% month-on-month, as per the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS).

According to statistics, in August, the country's daily crude steel output was at 1.8936 million tons, fell by 96,400 tons from July.

In the first eight months of this year, China's crude steel production amounted to 481.573 million tons, advanced 3% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, China's pig iron output in August totaled 53.744 million tons, down by 0.5% year-on-year. In the first eight months of this year, the country's pig iron production amounted to 445.597 million tons, rose by 2.6% year-on-year.
