Sonoco To Increase Price For Uncoated Recycled Board Products

Sonoco based in Hartsville , South Carolina has said that they have raised the prices of the uncoated recycled boards with $50 per ton, due to the rise in freight charges in Canada and United States.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster ): Sonoco based in Hartsville , South Carolina has said that they have raised the prices of the uncoated recycled boards with $50 per ton, due to the rise in freight  charges in Canada and United States.   

The charges will be made effective from February 19, 2018.

“A positive of the robust economy is solid backlogs at our mills,” says Palace Stepps, division vice president of sales and marketing for Sonoco’s U.S. and Canada paper and adhesives. “A challenge that the growing economy presents is inflating input costs such as we are seeing in freight, energy and a host of other papermaking consumables. Sonoco must seek to recover these inflating costs in the market.”

Sonoco is the one of the largest producers of URB in United States and Canada , producing more than 1 million tons annually from 11 mills . Sonoco has 21,000 employees all over the world working in more than 300 facilities and in 33 countries.
