Fire breaks out at recycling facility in Coldwater
Crews are responding to a fire at a recycling facility in Coldwater Friday evening.
COLDWATER (Scrap Monster): Crews are responding to a fire at a recycling facility in Coldwater Friday evening.
Branch County dispatchers confirmed that the fire was burning at Aleris Recycling, on Fillmore Road.
The Branch County Sheriff tells Newschannel 3 that it's believed a crate of magnesium outside the plant somehow caught fire.
Magnesium fires have a very energetic reaction to water, so crews are reportedly letting the fire smolder.
At this time, there are no injuries reported.
Officers are in the area working traffic control, but at this point, we're told that no roads have been shut down.
