Lumber was a rare commodity to miss out on Wednesday's broad rally.

CME Lumber futures close higher CME lumber futures closed higher, with front-month January jumping 3.4% amid a rise in cash prices. Lumber was a rare commodity to miss out on Wednesday's broad rally. Lumber demand is perceived to be sensitive to global economic jitters as well as availability of credit. January rose $7.40 per 1,000 board feet to $227 while March rose $1.10 to $242.50. Cash prices were around $239.
