GABORONE (Scrap Monster): ASX listed A-Cap Resources has commenced diamond drilling at its Mea and Bolau coking coal projects in Botswana for establishing Indicated Resources through which it could deliver around 1-2 million tonnes per annum.

The drilling program at the Mea site has the target to establish an indicated resource on the part of the deposit most suitable for early mining. The work on Bolau site will focus to explore resources on the shallow up dip extension of nearby 2.5 billion tonne Sese Coking coal deposit of African Resources.

The drilling work is expected to be finished by August end. Paul Thomson, Chief Executive Officer said that Current infrastructure constraints in Botswana would allow 1-2 million tonne per annum projects to come on line in the short term, if the commodity price was suitable.

He added that their rationale was to explore enough coking coal resources to allow mining operation for more than 10 years to be considered, stepping into the next stage of assessing the economic viabilities. Mr. Paul added that the later as the infrastructure capacity in Botswana grows, the coking coal resources on their tenements still has the potential to expand with it.
