Kardemir Steel Producer Set To Award 600,000 Million Tonnes Coking Coal Tender

Kardemir, Turkish steel producer will soon be set to give a tender for about 600,000 million tones of coking coal, followed by various offers several weeks ago, a source related with the process said during Monday.

The source added that the Karabuk based long steel producer has taken technical and commercial evaluations on the offers and has made some decisions. The company is awaiting the board approval for the contracts.

Source said that the bidders’ offer comprised of multiple coking coal origins. The steel producer requested bids on a FOB and CFR Zonguldak basis for the 2014 second half shipments, by using baby Capesize vessels and Panamaxes which can load up to 110,000 million tonnes. Limani port facilities of Eren Group which unload the Capesizes of coking coal regularly are readily available for the company, Kardemir.
