Ferrous metals contain iron, and are known for their strength. Steel is the most recycled material in the world, beating all other products combined. Examples of ferrous metals are: mild steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and wrought iron. When a metal is defined as non-ferrous it means that it does not have a significant amount of iron in its chemical composition. Examples of non-material are: aluminium, copper, lead, nickel, tin, titanium and zinc, and alloys such as brass.
