Whilst we are extremely proud of our heritage and pleased that we’re still a family business, the Schofield Scrap Metal Recycling Centre today is very much a forward-looking company that has benefited from significant investment in recent years. We operate a policy of continuous improvement and constantly strive to make our site safer and a more pleasant experience for visitors or customers. Most recently we have invested in newly re-surfaced roadways (which are swept regularly), improved signage, improved road markings and a new, protected pedestrian way.We’re still based on a rural hilltop more or less equidistant from Leeds/Bradford and Oldham/Manchester but just about everything else has changed. In particular, recycling scrap metal as an activity has emerged not simply as a worthwhile option but an environmental necessity.
