Penrose Auto Salvage
6256 State Hwy 120, Penrose , Colorado, United States
PENROSE– Penrose Auto Salvage at 1650 Colorado Highway 120 has re-opened under new management.
Terry and Barbara Earl, formerly of Salida, have taken over operations at the salvage site east of Penrose, and they’ve brought 10 years experience in the automotive recycling business with them.
The Earls own South Side Salvage as well as Leadville Auto Salvage, and recycle all makes and models of vehicles “You need to recycle these things,” said Terry. “It saves a lot in the environment and saves people a lot of money.”
The Earls accept any cars, pickups and trucks up to one ton at Penrose Auto Salvage. They also accept appliances and scrap metal, and recycle freon, oils and fluids, charging a small fee for “freon free” certification.
“Any parts you can think of” are available at Penrose Auto Salvage, from ignitions and headlights to truck beds and used tires - anything to do with automobiles, according to Terry.
Penrose Auto Salvage operates on a computerized Hollander inventory system which keeps an accurate record of all auto parts.
In addition the Earls have a nationwide parts locating system through which they can order hard-to-find parts they don’t have in stock.
The Earls relocated to the Penrose area for the better apple growing season - one of Barbara’s hobbies - and to be closer to the military base.
Terry retired from the Air Force as a nuclear and chemical warfare instructor, but assures his customers the he’s not concocting anything from spare parts out back.
