Based in downtown Los Angeles, Isidore Electronics Recycling offers certified e-waste recycling, data destruction, and IT asset recovery services. Isidore is R2 (Responsible Recycling) certified, and one of the most certified companies in the e-waste industry.Founded by Kabira Stokes in 2011, we are a woman-owned, award-winning, social enterprise that provides on-the-job training and employment for Angelenos who face barriers to employment. In particular, Isidore provides job opportunities for people who have been previously incarcerated.

Isidore Electronics Recycling is building a world in which our resources – both human and natural – are valued, not wasted.Our mission is to make recycling electronics easy, secure and accessible, while creating employment opportunities for people who have successfully exited California’s correctional system.

• Our landfills are overflowing. Our prisons are overflowing. The toxins in our landfills get into our drinking water, into our ground soil, into our lives. 98% of people who go to prison come out of prison to our communities. If we haven’t rehabilitated them, they go back to prison – often after having committed more crimes. That is not public safety. There is no “away” when we throw something away. The public will be truly safe when we keep electronics out of landfills and people out of prison.

DATA DESTRUCTION SERVICES

As an R2 certified company, Isidore has undergone extensive third party auditing to ensure that our data destruction processes are effective and secure.We offer a variety of services depending on the type of data storage device and the sensitivity of your data. Our software meets or exceeds NIST SP 800-88 and Department of Defense 5220.22-M (three pass) data erasure standards. Drives can then be reformatted and reused, instead of being shredded and recycled.A hard drive shredder is used to destroy the data storage device itself. Shredded scraps are then recycled in an environmentally correct manner. The hard drive shredder can also be deployed on-site at your location to eliminate any chain-of-custody concerns.
