The landfill is now public friendly (blacktop surface-no nails), the price for a car is $8, the price for a pickup or trailer is $16. Every spring a free pass is sent with your water bill. A tarp of any sort must cover your load or an additional $25 fee will apply. Their phone number is 367-8162,
If you’ve been cleaning garages, trimming trees, etc. The extras will be picked up and an extra charge of not more than $25 will automatically charged to your account. If it is more we will need your approval.
To protect our employees from injuries, branches must be cut to 4-5 foot and tied. If the extra charge is more than $25 we will leave them until we receive your approval for the extra charge. If you wish to haul them yourselves you may take them to the landfill (tarp required) or to a lot ½ mile south of Co. Hwy 106 and 471st Ave owned by Mueller Pallets (368-2440). There is no charge for Mueller pallets and tarping is not required.
Refrigerators, washers, dryers, water heaters, and air conditioners require a special pickup as they are required to be recycled. The landfill has no extra fee for appliances, just your entrance fee. Microwaves at this time can go into the trash.
All electronics (appliances with printed circuit boards that contain lead solder) as well as paint, poisons, motor oil can be brought to the Hazardous waste facility 1015 E. Chambers at no charge. These items are not permitted in the trash. Go green - receive your bill by e-mail. We also have online bill pay, auto pay, a payment drop off box at Hy-Vee 26th & Sycamore, you can mail us payment by check or money order, or call us with a credit/debit card.

Return trips are very costly for fuel and wages. Extra garbage set out the following pickup day is no problem. If you feel that you cannot hold it until next time please call us for arrangements. The usual return fee is $10 - $20 depending on how close we are to your area (this fee only covers our expenses).
We have every other week recycling pick up that will either follow the green or yellow calendar found on the home page. Yellow lids on the recycling cart do not necessarily mean that you are on the yellow calendar. If you are in question with what calendar you have, please call our office at 334-4223.
