Electronics Recycling

OceanTech provides a reuse-based, environmentally friendly, liability-free electronics recycling service that is designed to bring value back to our customers. We are committed to managing used and end-of-life electronics, components, and materials based on a reuse, recover, energy recovery hierarchy. Prior to reuse, equipment is wiped clear of data, tested, and thoroughly cleaned.All data-containing material is wiped or destroyed prior to leaving the OceanTech facility for recycling. We conduct thorough and regular audits of all of potential and current downstream vendors that receive any equipment for recycling. All materials are recycled in accordance with R2 recycling standards. Our strict “No Landfill” policy applies to all electronics received. We are audited regularly by both internal processes and external organizations.We are proud to hold R2 Responsible Recycling certification and ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system certification. In the process of attaining these internationally recognized certifications, our environmental, health and safety, and security procedures have been inspected and certified by an independent third party auditor.

Data Security

OceanTech has a strong commitment to the security of our clients’ confidential information. When data storage media is sold, transferred, or recycled, it is important to ensure that all data contained on these devices is eliminated. We offer a secure chain of custody for the transportation of equipment back to our facility, where certified data destruction is performed. All proprietary labeling and asset tags are removed from all equipment to protect the privacy of our clients. The reports and certificates that are generated may be stored on OceanTech’s secure online client portal for your reference or later retrieval.
