Ayers Sanitation

Ayers Sanitation is a family owned and opperated garbage pickup business founded in 1970 in Sussex County New Jersey. Early on, our founders, Eldon and Flossie Ayers, made it clear to all involved that superior services is what would separate us from others in the trash business.Today, that theme is carried forward by 2nd and 3rd generation family members.

Residential garbage pickup is our specialty niche. We stay as efficient and 'green' as possible by picking up your trash and recycling on the same time each week with one 'Split-Packer' truck.We also offer 10, 20 and 30 yard roll-off containers for residential & commercial use.

History

• In 1970, Eldon & Florence (known as Flossie) Ayers were looking for a new challenge. Their children were grown and in college or married.

• The Layton Store was up for sale. That had a certain appeal to them. However, the bank didn't agree. On a whim,Flossie asked if a loan was not available for the store how about for a garbage truck! The bank officer replied with enthusiasm - 'That would be possible!' And so Eldon Ayers Sanitary Collection was born. They bought a new 1970 Dodge with a 25 yd packer.

• Flossie continued her job as Sandyston-Walpack School board secretary and Eldon & crew started picking up trash in Sandyston and Montague.

• Flossie did the bills in the evening. She was accounts receivable, accounts payable and customer service. Eldon worked hard every day serving his customers and maintained his trucks at night.

• Today, over 40 years later, we're still hard at work servicing customers throughout Sussex County.Flossie still enjoys seeing her fleet of trucks but her children and grandchildren now handle the day to day activity of Ayers Sanitation.

Residential Service

• Ayers Sanitation offers residential garbage service in the Sussex County area of New Jersey. Service includes weekly pickup of your garbage and recycling. All recycling is picked up on the same day as your trash each week. We allow for three cans of trash each week and as much recycling as you have.

• The rate is currently $40.32 per month. We bill on a bimonthly basis. No registration fees. No charges for paying your bill by check or phone. The only other charge that will appear on your bill is a fuel surcharge that we only charge when diesel is over $3.00/gallon. The charge has never been more than $1 per month. We don't want to benefit from high fuel charges.

• We have been switching our fleet to a 'split body' packers so we are able to pick up your garbage and recycling with the same truck. The two are not being disposed of in the same place. The picture below shows what the back of our trucks looks like. One side is for recycling and the larger is for trash.

• Don not include: Plastics other than those listed. No Plastic Film or Plastic Bags
• Do Not include: Paper items other than those listed, Stickers or Address Labels Sheet, Waxed Paper or
  Waxed Cardboard Paper
• Do Not Include: Glass Items other than those listed, Window Panes, Mirrors, Ceramics, Pyrex Dishware
• Do Not Include: Cans & Metal Items other than those listed, Scrap Metal
• Do Not Include Electronic Waste; Batteries, Cell Phones, Computers, VHS/VCR Tapes, etc.
• Do Not Include Paint, Pesticide, Oil & Cleaners, Needles or Syringes, Styrofoam To-Go Containers, Organic Material or Food Waste.
