Sage Sustainable Electronics® is a privately held Ohio LLC, based in Columbus. Our founders have a combined three decades of experience in our industry running a mission-driven company that produced consistently superior results for customers. With leadership that embodies many decades of work in IT Operations, Asset Management, Compliance, and Security, Sage is fielding the most experienced team in IT asset disposition (ITAD).

Past and Future
When Houghton and Vaské founded Redemtech in 1998, some customers were still in favor of using the dumpster for electronics disposal, and many were ambivalent about the need to erase hard drives. Redemtech proceeded to lead the industry in defining responsible best practices for IT asset reuse and recycling. In 2010, Gartner recognized Redemtech as a “Leader” in its first ever Magic Quadrant for IT Asset Disposition. Redemtech was acquired by Arrow Electronics in 2012, which subsequently retired the brand.

Now our big idea is sustainable IT that serves the present without neglecting our obligation to the future— no more throw-away electronics! With completely new technology and automated workflows, Sage is far exceeding our past best efforts—reusing more and recycling less.

Recycling

Working with Hugo Neu Recycling, we recycle every ounce of electronic and universal waste here in the United States of America. We feel it’s our duty to protect the planet from the fastest growing waste stream in the world— electronics. We create local jobs,  prevent environmental messes, and we protect our customers’ interests. You are choosing wisely.

Data Protection

Security is assured by chain of custody and inventory controls specially developed by Sage for Equipment Collection. Data destruction is performed according to automated customer business rules using the world's leading tools by Blancco.  Online records verifying data destruction are created for every data bearing device.

Repair and Refurbishing

Equipment meeting client qualifications for redeployment is repaired and refurbished to provide the new user with a new device experience—key to a successful redeployment program. Lease returns are prepared to minimize client expense for chargebacks, based on lessor terms and conditions. Equipment for resale is repaired when economical to optimize value recovery.

Strategic Equipment Allocation

Sage will automate your business rules governing the optimal disposition for a mixed stream of equipment in transition. Give us your redeployment standards to intercept qualifying hardware for refurbishing and further use. Provide us with lease schedules, and we’ll ensure on-time end-of-lease returns. For customers that donate, we’ll identify and prepare qualifying surplus hardware to fulfill your pay-forward strategy. Complexity made simple.

Value Recovery

“Sell high” seems like an obvious philosophy for value recovery, but it takes the Sage BlueBook® to make it a science.
