The Recycling Foundation, Inc.

The Recycling Foundation has been providing recycling services in south Louisiana since the early 1990's. We are a full service commercial and residential recycler. The Recycling Foundation currently holds the curbside recycling contracts for East Baton Rouge Parish, and the cities of Lafayette, Zachary, Youngsville, Hammond and Ponchatoula, Louisiana. We also service more than 500 businesses in those areas.Our primary goal at The Recycling Foundation is to maximize recycling in all of the communities where we are involved. We are not a solid waste contractor, but specialize specifically in recycling. In 2005 The Recycling Foundation introduced single stream recycling into its servcice communities. Single stream recycling is the future of curbside recycling and has been extremely successful. To date the East Baton Rouge and Lafayette communities have experienced over a 35% increase in tonnage collected from the curb. We are excited about these results and look forward to increasing them inthe future.

At The Recycling Foundation we implement the latest in sorting technology to recover the maximun amount of recyclables from the materials that we collect at the curb. Our single stream Materials Recovery Facility was the first built in the state of Louisiana. We look forward to staying at the forefront of sorting technology to provide our customers with the easiest and most efficient recycling programs in the country.We appreciate the opportunity to be involved in so many wonderful communities. Residential Services

• Place your recycling at the curb by 5:00a.m.
• Keep your recycling about 3 feet away from your garbage, if they are collected on the same day.
• Rinse containers and put the lids in your garbage.
• All recyclable materials can be mixed together. No more need to separate!
• Please do not bag any recyclables.
• We accept all sizes of corrugated cardboard. If it will fit in the cart place it in the cart. If it is too large for the cart please fold it and place it beside the cart. Put pizza boxes in your garbage cart.
• Only recycle the following items.

Commercial Services

The Recycling Foundation offers single-stream commercial collection to select areas of South Louisiana. Service levels available and rates can vary significantly.  Examples of services currently offered include:

• Curbside 96 gallon carts
• Dumpster
• Roll-Off Containers
• Compactor Boxes
• Baled Materials

Each business is unique.  We work with you to customize a waste management plan to meet your specific needs. Simply adding recycling service may increase your total refuse bill. To counteract this, it is often possible to reduce refuse service and use those savings to cover recyclables collection.  By targeting easily recyclable components of your commercial waste stream and promoting waste prevention and reuse, your business or organization can reduce waste, and in many cases, save money by doing so.
