The company has tripled its fleet of trucks to more than 80, has greatly expanded its locations and services and now provides recycling and waste disposal for nearly 25 municipalities in New Jersey.As the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in New Jersey, the company’s success is directly attributed to financial strength, consistency, professionalism and ability to provide immediate and long-term savings to customers.

Company History

Central Jersey Waste and Recycling has enjoyed a successful history of modernizing the waste and recycling industry in New Jersey. The company was incorporated in 1999 and then purchased by Frank Fiumefreddo, Jr. in 2003.When Mr. Fiumefreddo took ownership, the company operated less than 25 trucks and serviced eight municipalities and 200 commercial customers. By implementing new green technologies and initiatives to control solid waste costs, the company has experienced substantial growth in five years. Central Jersey has built a reputation based on unparalleled customer service and the ability to build strong business relationships across public and private sectors.

Today, the company has three locations in central New Jersey, a fleet of more than 80 trucks, contracts with more than 20 municipalities and 1,300 commercial customers. Mr. Fiumefreddo and his leadership team are committed to doubling the book of business every two years, as an increasing number of customers learn about the unique, money-saving services offered through Central Jersey Waste & Recycling.

Central Jersey Waste and Recycling uses a fleet of more than 80 roll-off vehicles that are leak-proof and self-contained. All of our commercial vehicles are designed for versatility for an array of customer requirements. This makes Central Jersey a one-stop resource for all disposal and recycling needs.Central Jersey recognizes the importance of a meticulous fleet, as it is the first impression about the company. To that end, Central Jersey maintains its equipment at the highest levels of performance and appearance, ensuring each vehicle is freshly painted and always clean and professional. We even make sure to wash our trucks with eco-friendly cleaners.

 RECYCLING

Central Jersey Waste and Recycling is leading the industry in recycling, offering new tools and techniques that encourage recycling and reduce costs for consumers. From single-stream recycling to organic waste recycling, Central Jersey is proud of its reputation and is dedicated to continually finding new ways to streamline the waste disposal process and safeguard the environment.

We look forward to developing a state-of-the-art recycling program that best fits your specific needs, environmental objectives and budget.What makes us different from the competition is our steadfast commitment to pursuing initiatives that save money for our customers while preserving the environment in New Jersey.

  • We are actively converting our fleet of trucks from diesel fuel to clean, quiet, and domestically-fueled natural gas refuse trucks. This is an environmental alternative that will reshape the waste and recycling industry in New Jersey and force our competitors to step up.
  • We are leading the way effort in New Jersey to implement single-stream recycling, allowing residents in municipalities we serve to co-mingle recyclable paper and mixed containers into one bin for collection. This landmark program greatly increases the number of people participating in local recycling programs and encourages individuals to put aside more refuse for recycling. This initiative has generated the recovery of an additional 25 percent of recycled materials.
  • Single-Stream Recycling also saves municipalities money, as Central Jersey Waste and Recycling requires a smaller fleet for this process and can optimize routes for greater efficiency. Through Single-Stream Recycling, there is no need for special recycling vehicles with greater material compaction. Only one truck is needed per route, saving fuel, saving the environment and saving money.

Central Jersey Waste is a privately owned & operated garbage company that offers Front Load and Rear Load containers for commercial businesses.Service levels can be determined by our trained professionals. We also provide containers for single stream recycling.

SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING

Single stream recycling refers to a system in which all paper fibers and containers are mixed together in a collection truck, instead of being sorted into separate commodities (newspaper, cardboard, plastic, glass, etc.) by the resident and handled separately throughout the collection process. In single stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle this fully commingled mixture of recyclables.

Proponents of single stream note several advantages:

  • Reduced sorting effort by residents may mean more recyclables are placed at the curb and more residents may participate in recycling;
  • Reduced collection costs because single-compartment trucks are cheaper to purchase and operate, collection can be automated, and collection routes can be serviced more efficiently;
  • Greater fleet flexibility which allows single compartment vehicles to be used for refuse or recycling, providing greater fleet flexibility and reducing the number of reserve vehicles needed.
  • To avoid confusing customers, a large sign or banner is sometimes used to distinguish when a refuse truck is being used for recycling.
  • Since participation requires less work by residents, volume per household may increase.
  • Worker injuries may decrease because the switch to single stream is often accompanied by a switch from bins to cart-based collection.
  • Changing to single stream may provide an opportunity to update the collection and processing system and to add new materials to the list of recyclables accepted; and
  • More paper grades may be collected, including junk mail, telephone books and mixed residential paper.

The following material can be recyced ONLY if they are clean (free of food waste.) A good rinse should be sufficient for most items!
