Blue Star Recyclers is an award-winning 501c3 social enterprise with locations in Colorado Springs and Denver, CO. Founded in 2009, our core mission is recycling electronics and other materials to create local jobs for people with autism and other disAbilities.Blue Star Recyclers follows recycling processes that meet the highest environmental standards in the industry. We establish annual goals and report results in our Annual Report and our Environmental Health and Safety Policy Reports for Colorado Springs and for Denver. Blue Star Receives RREO Grant Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) notified Blue Star Recyclers they were selected to receive a Recycling Resource Economic Opportunity (RREO) grant of $125,000. RREO grants promote economic development through the productive management of recyclable materials. Andy O’Riley, Director of EHS and VERN, stated the grant would build capacity of VERN, Blue Star’s hub and spoke recycling network. “The funding will help purchase equipment and services to improve capacity, efficiency, and safety, allowing us to do what we do better and safer”, he said.
