Green Earth Recycling LLC

Green Earth Recycling LLC is a small shingle recycling company serving the Central Ohio region. Located within the Village of Brice we embody our name in creating a more greener earth for our community. We have been in business since April of 2013.Our goal is to reuse hard to recycle materials such as post-consumer asphalt shingles and construction and demolition materials. We process those materials at our location and find homes for them in the supply chain to be reused as other products.Started by Jim Cotugno and Chris Alley. Before becoming part of the recycling business, Jim, did general contract work. He handles all inquiries for RAS products and business recycling needs. Chris was previously a carpenter before starting Green Earth. Chris handles the inspection of loads coming into our facility and the sorting of material.

Shingle Recycling

Here at Green Earth Recycling we take pride in offering the best recycled aspalt shingles we can and the easiest shingle recycling experience to our roofers. Located within the Village of Brice, on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio, our goal is to do our part to make the world a better place.

Sorting
Roofers from all over columubs come to us to drop-off their roofing waste. Once the roofers have tipped the shingles we hand sort them, taking care to recycle any other materials that may be included in the load.

Grinding
Once the shingles are sorted they are grinded in our 3680 Beast Grinder and run through a 516T Spyder Screener to produce a 3/8' minus material. This also ensures uniformity in the RAS.

Testing
We test the shingles every 1,000 tons for asbestos and gradation. Our employees are also trained to visually inspect shingles for any sign of asbestos or any other conatainment.

Shipping
Our location allows for two shipping options, rail car and trucking.

Pricing
Because of variable transportaion cost, pricing may vary. Please fill out the contact form below with the address of the plant the RAS will be shipped to and we will get you a price within a few days.

Business Recycling

Green Earth Recycling can help your business start a sustainable recycling program. We can help with training of what is recyclable, determine the amount of recycling containers your business needs, and we will pick-up the recycling for you! At this time we do not supply indoor recycling containers so this will be a small upfront cost for your business that will save your company long term on trash pick-up fees. Look at our materials accepted page to see all that we can accept. At the end of each month we will also send you a report with the amount of materials that your company has diverted from the landfill.

Construction and Demolition Recycling

At this time Green Earth Recycling does accept some construction and demolition materials. Please see our materials accepted page for listing of accepted items. Our hope is to expand our C&D recycling efforts in the future.
