ISRI Statement on the Death of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein
(September 29, 2023 – Washington, D.C.) ISRI is saddened by the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, who was a trailblazer and advocate for equal rights. She was a true champion of the environment and recognized the significant role of the recycled materials industry in protecting natural resources.
Her work and historic tenure in Congress opened doors for women and all Americans on both sides of the aisle. She continuously worked for children and underrepresented communities. She broke numerous glass ceilings, including serving as the first woman elected mayor of San Francisco. She embraced technology and advocated for its benefits. Senator Feinstein will be remembered for her ability to reach across the aisle with resolve to never be deterred from doing what she felt was right.
Senator Feinstein’s legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, colleagues, and constituents during this time.
