SGS Pleased to Announce LQSi Certification as Reference Material Producer

Chicago, IL (Date February 2, 2022) – As the world’s leading testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) company, SGS is proud to announce LQSI has received international ISO 17034:2016 accreditation for certified reference materials. Accreditation to this standard requires Reference Material Producers to demonstrate their competence in producing Reference Materials of the highest quality, provide strong statistical evidence for the certified values, and have a solid management system in place.

The LQSi team has been hard at work to achieve this additional ISO accreditation as a Reference Material Producer, which adds a level of certainty and trust to the work being provided to not only the mining industry but also analytical suppliers and laboratories. The LQSi team is composed of a dedicated group of professionals whose mission is to provide laboratories with exceptional service in the field of proficiency testing for over 50 years.

In addition to offering the industry a ready-to-use certified reference material library, our LQSi can also create company specific certified reference materials tailored to individually provided client materials.

This new ISO 17034:2016 accreditation will cover the following commodities:

• Coal
• Petroleum and metallurgical coke
• Copper concentrates
• Lead concentrates
• Zinc concentrates
• Fertilizer, such as MAP and DAP
• Lithium ore
• Biofuels – made from wood pellets

Further commodities will be added in the near future.

By achieving this accreditation, our LQSi team not only enhances its already strong proficiency testing capabilities, but also provides international mining companies and commercial laboratory groups with increased confidence in our rigorous proficiency round robin programs.
