Metso has been awarded orders by GR Engineering Services (GRES) to deliver key minerals processing technology for Develop Global’s Yitirrti (formerly called Sulphur Springs) copper-zinc-silver project in Western Australia. The value of the order, which is not disclosed, has been booked in the Minerals segment’s 2026 second-quarter orders received.
The Yitirrti project is a high-grade copper-zinc-silver deposit located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The processing plant has a capacity of approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum and is progressing toward pre-production.
“Yitirrti is a key copper-zinc-silver development for us and getting the process plant right is critical as we move through construction. Metso’s proven technology, process expertise and local support gave us confidence in their equipment package as we bring this exciting project into production in Western Australia,” says Kurt Tiedemann, Group Principal Metallurgist at Develop Global.
Metso’s scope of delivery covers the design, manufacture, testing, and delivery of process technology for the concentrator supporting copper and zinc processing. The equipment package consists of Metso’s Nordberg® C Series™ jaw crusher and Nordberg® HP450e™ cone crushers, an apron feeder as well as TankCell® flotation cells, thickeners, Stirred Media Detritor (SMD) regrind mills and slurry analyzers.
