A&M Nut & Bolt

Our History

In 1978, after working for some of the largest fastener distributors in the Southwest, Jim Markins, decided to go into business for himself and A&M Nut & Bolt was born. He opened up a modest store in Tempe with a small inventory of generic fasteners, a band saw, a bender, and two small bolt threaders.

Just a few years later his son, Brad, came on board.

A&M Nut & Bolt moved from Tempe to South Phoenix

The company grew through hard work and great service, and within five years of opening the doors, A&M Nut & Bolt moved from Tempe to South Phoenix. The company continued to grow with expansion into new product lines as well as anchor bolt manufacturing.

Jim has since retired (2001) but continues to be part of the A&M culture by packaging fasteners in the warehouse and “keeping everyone in line”.

Today

Today, Brad operates the company. We’re still a fastener company. We still carry many of the same products that we carried decades ago. However, we offer more lines and brand names than ever. We’ve brought the fasteners with us but we’re much more than that. A&M Nut & Bolt is Industrial Supply. A&M is a custom anchor bolt manufacturer.

Additionally, we are a safety and construction supply company. You may be surprised to learn that A&M now offers things like nitrile gloves, safety glasses, safety vests, hard hats, and more. We also carry abrasives like cutting wheels and grinding wheels. We know that it’s all about getting you what you need as quickly and painlessly as possible; let us serve you.
