Custom Metal Industries is a 4th Generation family business based out of Greenfield Indiana. We specialize in the manufacture of painted and unpainted steel panels and trim for the post-frame, commercial, and residential markets. We were the first company to rollform steel building panels in the state of Indiana and one of the first companies to begin custom cut steel for construction application in the United States.

1957

FOUNDATION

W.O. Pope founded Pope Steel Buildings in Greenfield, Indiana and began our longstanding reputation as an innovative leader in the fabrication of steel throughout the Midwest and abroad.

1969

POST FRAME & COMMERCIAL

Brothers Don and Harold Pope recognized the need for both Post-Frame and Commercial Steel Panels and Components and evolved the business into the Custom Metal Industries we know today.

90'S

CONTINUING THE TRADITION

Don and Harold retired in the early 90s and the business was purchased by their children Donna and Stan. The team continued to grow the business by replacing and adding production lines and satisfying their customers as their parents did.

2000'S

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Stan and Donna retired in the late 2000s. In 2013 Donna’s son Skylar purchased the company after previously working in banking and financial services around the country. After assuming management, he recruited a lifelong friend Justin with an extensive building background to co-manage the business. Today, the two men combine their backgrounds and experience to grow the business beyond what their predecessors could have imagined.

The Pope Family/Custom Metal has been fabricating steel panels and steel components for nearly 60 years. We have a modern plant. We have technical know-how and a wealth of satisfied clients. Each day we are committed to being that much better than the day before.
