SC Steel, LLC was established on January 2, 2018 as a subsidiary of Fabsouth. This facility has been in operation since 1952 and has operated under the names of SMI – Owen Steel Company, Inc. and South Carolina Steel Corporation.

HISTORY

SC Steel, LLC was established January 2, 2018 as a subsidiary of FabSouth and aquired the assets SMI-Owen Steel Company, Inc. on April 1, 2018. SMI-Owen Steel Company had owned the business since 1994 when they aquired it from South Carolina Steel Company. This facility has been in operation since 1952 at this location under the following names:

• 1952-1994 South Carolina Steel Corp
• 1994-2018 SMI-Owen Steel Company Inc. (CMC South Carolina Steel, CMC Structural)
• April 1, 2018 SC Steel, LLC.
