Etmeco Ltd.

In 1956, Ted Gaston Sr, opened a small sheet metal shop which he named Etmeco Ltd. At that time the company was involved in roofing and sheet metal fabrication, consisting of a 2000 square foot shop, one brake, one shear, two punch presses, two welding machines and four employees. The business took on a new direction with the death of Ted Gaston Sr in 1961. Construction in Toronto was starting to boom and Etmeco Ltd followed the trends. ETMECO expanded the shop, bought heavier equipment to increase our capacity and hired more employees to increase our speed of service. Mrs Gaston , with the help of the plant manager and salesman, kept the business on a sure footing until 1978. That's when Ted Gaston Jr. took over the responsibility of running ETMECO. Ted had spent the previous 5 years working for Drummond McCall, paying dues in various departments and working his way up to Inside Sales Supervisor. Ted's knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, various grades of alloys, along with sales training and experience, plus, adding the best integral workings of a nationwide company kept building on ETMECO’s reputation for quality, service and quick turnaround time.

Todays new facility, a 22,000 square foot building in Mississauga, employees a team of over 25 people, has on hand over 300 tons of stock in a climate controlled environment and implement newer hi-tech equipment like the CNC TRUMF 5000R punching machine and TRUMPF 4030 3,000-watt laser, with a dual pallet shuttle table allows, ETMECO to bring its customer “ The future of sheet metal fabrication. . . . . today .”

By keeping a close watch on industry trends, new hi-tech innovations and our customers needs, ETMECO plans for future expansion and implementation of newer equipment and build on our reputation of quality product, service and quick production.
