Brothers Collateral Loans

Brothers Collateral Loans is family owned and operated by brothers Rudy and Ernest Gintel. They opened the pawnshop in Hollywood over 35 years ago and it has been at the same location ever since.

Ernest and Rudy are experts in the field, having developed their knowledge throughout their lives. They began in the pawn industry as kids working at their father and uncle’s pawnshop across from MacArthur Park near downtown Los Angeles. After their father and uncle retired, the brothers went into business for themselves, opening Brothers Collateral at the current location on the corner of Melrose Ave and Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood, California.

Their father, Eugene, spent his retirement doing what he loved – rebuilding watches for his sons to sell in the shop, and “Momma” Shirley has done the books since Brothers Collateral opened.

Rudy currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the California Pawnbrokers Association (CAPA) and Brothers Collateral is a member of CAPA and the National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA).
