Oak Hill Roofing & Sheet Metal

Oak Hill Roofing was started in the mid 80's, my father, Ernie Harris & His Business partner Ben Frey, started up this business after working for a company that had traveled several states, when I was 12 years old my Father & Ben Frey bought a Grocery Store called (Oak Hill Grocery) in Clackamas Oregon, they then quit traveling all over the states and started up the business called Oak Hill Roofing, when I was a boy I watched how hard my Father had worked to support his family, I swore I was never going to be a roofer. When I turned 19, I joined the military and ended up going to Desert Storm, while being away in AIT, my wife had our first son, while I was in Iraq my wife worked at my Fathers store. The month of June my wife and I moved all of our belonging's to Fort Riley Kansas, (The Big Red One Infantry Division), in the process of moving we had spent all of our money moving into our first place together, on the 2nd day my wife came to me and said, Dennis we need diapers, what are you going to do? At that moment in my life, I had decided that I can not fight fait, so I got a job as a Roofer (part-time). I spent the year and a half working in the military and working Roofing, at that moment of my life I had relived why my Father worked the way he had. In 1993 I came back home ready to work with my father and becoming the best I can be at Roofing, My Father wanted me to learn Sheet Metal at that time, I was a little reluctant at first but after the first year I had fallen in LOVE with what I could do with a piece of metal, Now both of my sons work in the industry, they are now where I was in 1993. I sure hope they have as much FUN as I have had in the last 20 plus years.
