Staloff Brothers Custom Metal Fabrication

Staloff Brothers was originated in 1892 by Sam Staloff in the country of Lithuania. In 1914 he and his family emigrated to the United States to settle in Jersey City, NJ. The business mainly consisted of sheet metal work pertaining to roofing as well as general tinsmith work. It operated under the name of Sam Staloff (Tinsmith). In 1928 his son Louis Staloff became his business partner and about 3 or 4 years later Louis’s younger brother Julius joined the family business. Shortly thereafter Sam relinquished control to his sons who then became partners hence forming the current business name of Staloff Brothers. Over the years the business evolved into more of a general sheet metal fabrication shop with the addition of more modern equipment. Louis became very proficient at designing & fabricating complete blower & ventilation systems while Julius remained heavily involved in the roofing sheet metal work. The business thrived due to hard work, long hours, excellent quality and good service.

In 1977 after skipping a generation, Louis’s grandson Glenn Brownstein starting working full-time for Staloff Brothers. In 1997 Julius retired and Louis did the same in 2003 at the age of 94! Since Glenn took over in 1998 all of the original machines have been replaced except one. Presently, the business consists of a 5,000 square foot facility with around 15 machines operated by Glenn and his employee Karl Diers, a hard worker who has been with him for 14 yrs. Glenn chose to remain small for the following reasons: To maintain high quality products, fast turnaround service, and reasonable prices due to lower overhead costs. This philosophy has enabled Staloff Brothers to survive rough economic times while other larger shops have since folded. Some of the items currently being fabricated include staircase parts, elevator entrances & interiors, stainless steel countertops, backsplashes, machine guards, commercial bakery parts, etc. No job is too small and we will continue to provide the highest quality possible with fast turnaround and fair pricing!
