Bauer Fabrication

The Bauer team is comprised of professional, experienced and innovative artisans and engineers who combine their skills and talents to produce distinctive custom-made pieces designed to exceed our clients’ expectations.

In our facility, products are crafted using traditional methods and techniques performed by hand and eye. It is our stated intention to deliver a finish of excellent and uniform quality.

As a fabricating and machine shop serving the construction and architectural markets, our customers are architects, designers, contractors and home owners. Though much of our work is in Vermont, we have installations in New York City and Boston as well as Florida, Mississippi, California and the Virgin Islands.

While working with a broad range of materials and exploring ways to incorporate new materials and methods into our projects, we developed, and received a U.S. patent on, a process of building freestanding objects using thermal spray and wire mesh. We use this process to build sculptural artwork that would otherwise have been cast, as well as memorials and household objects such as sinks.

“Bauer Art Metal” is the name we have given to our new patented process. This unique fabrication process involves spraying molten metal to create a whole new world of shapes and textures in metals. In conjunction with more traditional methods, this technique enables us to make a variety of architectural and custom metal fabrications in addition to stand-alone products.

To showcase the potential of this process, we are currently developing a variety of special projects consisting of household items and objets d’art, including customized cookware and floral displays which employ our design and fabricating skills to make unique, functional and artistic products.
