In 1989, Rick Wories purchased a small shop in Lynwood, IL with an idea of creating his own ornamental iron business. Having ten years of experience working in the industry, he hired one employee, purchased a truck, steel, as well as a few pieces of equipment needed to create a product. Along with his wife, Julie, who filled the secretarial role answering calls and doing paperwork, a vision was acted upon and Builders Ironworks, Inc. was founded.
What started out as small stoop rails and fence, soon turned into bigger and more challenging products. With each and every job, knowledge was inherited and experience earned.
In 1995, Builders Ironworks, Inc. was in need of more space in order to increase sales and production. After searching for the right environment and area fit for the company, an 8,000 sq. ft. shop was finally found in Steger, IL, located 30 miles south of the city of Chicago, where Builders Ironworks, Inc. currently exists.
Today, President Rick Wories continues to guide his company as one of the premier iron shops in the Chicagoland area.
