Robust Gear was founded in, August, 1985 by Tarsem (‘Sem’) Tak in the town of Oakville, Ontario. We are a close-knit family business. In 2008, Sem’s son, Anjan, joined the business as General Manager after completing his education at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and became President and General Manager after Tarsem's death in December, 2012. Our goal is to work closely with our customer through all stages of designing, material selection and manufacturing. Our customers are able to consult our team of professionals in the design of specific gearing requirements and heat treating processes. Our current customer base is representative of a variety of industries, many of whom operate in the global market.

We also have the expertise to provide reverse engineering services by redesigning and recreating damaged or excessively worn gears resulting in a replica of the original.
