Ironwood Plastics was founded in 1979 by Gordon K. Stephens. Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Mr. Stephens spent 27 years at a precision tooling company in Detroit, Michigan and another three years as Tooling Division Manager at Phillips Plastics in Phillips, Wisconsin.
In 1999, Gordon retired and the company was run by his three sons. In 2010, the brothers sold the company to CTB, a division of Berkshire Hathaway. January 1, 2013 Mark Stephens assumed responsibility for a global business unit within CTB and Rick Faustich became President of Ironwood Plastics.
