Sustainable Design + Behavior

I am a LEED consultant, researcher, social scientist, and principal of Sustainable Design + Behavior. I spent the first half of my career working with design and construction teams to create high-performance commercial buildings. Now, I am also focusing on the behavioral aspects of building operations and helping operators and occupants use their buildings in more energy-efficient ways.

My behavior-oriented work involves conducting literature reviews on the behavioral aspects of energy consumption; using ethnography, surveys and interviews to study people’s energy habits; and designing and implementing strategies to engage people to save energy.
