We at Bighorn Inspection, Inc. strive to give our customers and clients the very best in everything we do. Utilizing advanced ultrasonics and generating new techniques for unconventional inspections is something we are proud to be a part of. Our technologies in ultrasound coupled with the very best in technician training and care, have a proven history of providing safer, faster, and overall better results than older conventional inspection methods.  While radiographic (RT) methods are still widely in use today, advanced ultrasound techniques save both time and money when compared to RT. During an outage at a local refinery, utilization of these advanced ultrasonic techniques were able to provide the client with over 1,000 weld examinations, saving them untold amounts of funds in the form of lost man-hours and down-time should they have chosen only RT inspection methods. Our management has over 17yrs. in the Petrochemical and Refinery inspection field, utilizing and teaching advanced ultrasonic methods and technologies, including ShearWave, Phased Array methods and Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD) techniques.  B.I.I. has recently gone through an extensive procedural assessment/audit and qualification, performed by a third party auditor from Davis NDE and the University of Ultrasonics based in Alabama.  Our procedure for PA weld examination for both piping and pressure vessels has been updated to meet the most current code requirements including ASME Section I, ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and 2, ASME Code Case 2235-10, ASME B31.1 Code Case 189, and ASME B31.3 Code Case 181-2.  Our procedural qualification also references SNT-TC-1A (2011), ASME Section I (2013), ASME Section V, ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and 2 (2013), ASME Code Case 2235-10, ASME B31.1 (2012), ASME B31.1 Code Case 189, ASME B31.3 (2012), ASME Code Case 181-2, and our own BII-WP-01.   We are proud to able to offer our clients the very best and up-to-date ultrasonic weld examinations recommended by the code requirements.
