RSR Corporation is a privately held secondary lead smelting company that operates lead acid battery recycling facilities in California, Indiana, and New York. RSR uses state of the art technology and a highly trained workforce to ensure the lead acid batteries we recycle into refined lead do not harm the environment, employees, or the communities in which we work. According to Battery Council International, 97 percent of all battery lead is recycled and a typical new lead-acid battery contains 60 to 80 percent recycled lead and plastic. RSR is proud to be part of this industry and to be at the forefront of efforts to make the industry even more environmentally conscious.

RSR’s technology for reducing lead emissions is second to none. RSR has installed a Wet Electrostatic Precipitator and a Regenerative Thermal Oxidzier (WESP and RTO) at its City of Industry, California facility and WESP at the company’s Indianapolis, Indiana facility. The results have been impressive. RSR has cut its emissions of lead by more than 95% and is in compliance with the revised National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for lead. Emissions of other heavy metals have also been dramatically reduced by this technology. RSR is in the process of obtaining the appropriate permits and it plans to install WESP at its Middletown, New York facility in 2013-2014. Even without the installation of WESP, the Middletown facility remains in compliance with all federal and state environmental regulations.
