Shannons Diamonds & Fine Jewelry Inc

74 Farmington Ave, 06010, Bristol,, Connecticut, United States | Precious Metals

Scott Fournier and Frank Johnson established Shannon’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry Inc. in 1975. The store’s first location was on the Hub Six Shopping Center between John Allen’s Men’s store and Treadway Travel. The W. T. Grant Co. was the anchor store at the time.  Scott was 25 and Frank was 23 years old. They designed and constructed this store, from building the jewelry display cases to hanging the wallpaper. They believed they could be successful by offering the community quality jewelry at reasonable prices coupled with exceptional services. Their commitment to honesty and integrity lead them to their tag line,“A Store You Can Believe In.”  Frank and Scott are life-long Bristol residents with strong ties to the community.

The store supports local sports teams, churches and civic organizations. Supporting groups in our town is our way of saying thank you for patronizing Shannon’s. Shannon’s Jewelers is a member of the Jewelers of America and the Independent Jewelers Organization, an international buying group and educational organization of leading independent jewelers. In 1992, Shannon’s moved across the avenue to our present location, next to another Bristol legend, Harvest Bakery. Shannon’s performs most jewelry repairs and insurance appraisals on the premises. Goldsmith Nancy Curley, a 30-year employee, expertly performs stone setting and can create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.Scott Fournier, the diamond buyer and gemologist, will help you find the diamond of your dreams. Scott travels to Antwerp, Belgium once a year to personally select diamonds for his customers.

Frank Johnson left Shannon’s in 2003 to lead the Manufactures Alliance of Connecticut.  While offering an impressive selection of diamonds, colored stones, and gold jewelry, customers have said the friendly atmosphere makes the difference at Shannon’s. Our staff is dedicated and continues to be more than willing to answer your questions and advise you regarding your jewelry needs. The sales staff has been happy to install a watch battery or to help choose a special diamond piece. The first staff member hired was the warm and amicable Claire LaFrance, who is now enjoying retirement with her family. Today, full-time staff member  Katie Vallee, Traci Jones and Liza Johnson along with part time staff members, attend to customers needs.
