The Nucleus of what has developed into Tarrytown Jewelers was created in 1972 by Steve and Marlene Dubinsky when they began a small firm dealing in rare coins, jewelry, and precious metals. The combined knowledge of this husband and wife team slowly expanded to include diamonds and colored stones, as both took courses at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America and began trading in those areas. In 1978 Tarrytown Jewelers took a dramatic step forward and became one of the first companies in the United States to specialize in the acquisition and sales of fine pre-owned wrist watches. Today, in addition to handling some of the finest contemporary and vintage world class watches, Tarrytown Jewelers enjoys a worldwide reputation as one of the worlds leading sources of fine horological items.
