Quaterra’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SPS, is drilling the Bear porphyry copper system, one of its of assets in a 51-square-mile land position in the historic Yerington copper district of Nevada. Freeport Nevada – a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Inc. – has an option to earn a 55% interest in SPS by providing $40 million in option payments, or 75% by providing $138 million.
