BWF Envirotec USA was formed in 1989 as a partnership between BWF Textil (Germany) and two U.S. partners. Its purpose was to promote the use and development of technical felts in a market served primarily by low quality commodity media. Today BWF Envirotec USA services worldwide from its central location in Kentucky.

As early as 1968, BWF Envirotec was the first manufacturer worldwide to introduce synthetic needle felts as filter media. Today, BWF Envirotec produces yearly over 9,000,000 ready-to- install filter media. These are used worldwide under the brand Nameneedlona® and PM-Tec® for the filtration of harmful gases and pollutants. To meet the challenges in hot gas filtration Pyrotex® KE candle elements complete the product range.
