Emeco is the world’s largest, independent mining equipment rental business.

Emeco provides safe and reliable earthmoving equipment solutions to major resource projects across Australia, Indonesia, Canada and Chile.

Whether an owner miner, developing a new project, or a contractor, the Emeco team can provide an entire earthmoving fleet or a few key machines to help a mining company get the job done. Emeco equipment is also supported by flexible maintenance and after-hire services to ensure that our customers can focus on the business of mining.

Emeco was established in Perth, Western Australia, in 1972 and is a publicly listed ASX 200 company with a global rental fleet of approximately 1,000 machines


HISTORY:

1972: Emeco (EarthMoving Equipment COmpany) founded as a local equipment supplier to the West Australian market.

1985: New South Wales business established.

1992: Emeco had established operations across Australia by 1992.

1997:Darr Equipment Company, a US equipment and forklift company based in Texas, acquired Emeco in 1997.

2000: Established operations in Indonesia as Prima Traktor IndoNusa, trading as Emeco.

2003:Established US operations in Houston, Texas.

2004: Established operations in Netherlands.

2005: Two Australian private equity firms, Pacific Equity Partners and Archer Capital bought Emeco from Darr Equipment Company. Emeco acquired businesses in Canada and Europe and significantly expanded its activities in the United States.

2006: Emeco listed on the Australian Securities Exchange as ASX code EHL. PEP and Archer exited their interest in the Emeco Group.

2007 & 2008: A number of acquisitions of independent earthmoving equipment rental, sales and parts companies took place in Europe, Australia and the United States.

2010 & 2011: Global strategic review and closure of under-performing assets.

2012 : Emeco's 40 year anniversary. Operations established in Chile. Emeco now operating in Australia, Indonesia, Canada and Chile and focused on providing safe, reliable and maintained rental equipment to the global mining industry.
