Founded by Alice Combs in 1975 and incorporated in 1978, VULCAN was established to meet the strong demand for excellence in products and services within the recycling industry. Mike Graffio, became president in 1997, leading the company into the 21st century. He continues to lead the company today. Like our wire, VULCAN is made with integrity—right here in the United States.

Our corporate office, factory, and main warehouse are located in Hayward, CA, where all of our manufacturing takes place. We also operate a sales office in Los Angeles, CA, and distribution centers in Los Angeles, CA, Phoenix, AZ, and Salt Lake City, UT.

Our extensive distribution footprint, along with partnerships with over 15 freight carriers, ensures you receive your product when and where you need it—no matter your location. Expanding beyond our humble roots on the West Coast, Vulcan has grown into one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of baling wire products in the United States. We proudly serve all 48 continental states and Hawaii.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our offerings to better support our growing customer base. We now offer repair services and supply parts for balers and wire-tying devices. We also operate a full industrial packaging division. With over 50 years of professional service, we’ve built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and consistently meeting deadlines. Our long-term customers include recyclers, grocers, big-box stores, government agencies, lumber yards, packagers, and other distributors.
