Over 30 Years of Experience
W K Construction Company, Inc. has been in the asphalt milling business since 1982. During that time our business has expanded to utilize other alternative reconstruction methods using milling and paving technologies. W K Construction now offers not only milling; but also, micro milling, pulverizing and cold in-place recycling. W K Construction does cold in-place recycling with both emulsion and foamed asphalt.
In 1992 we began W K Stone. W K Stone delivers and places crushed limestone, crushed asphalt and sand. From our limestone quarry in Middleton, WI, W K Stone services Madison, Middleton and western Dane County.
Cold In-Place Recycling
Longer Lasting Overlay
Cold In-Place recycling is a milling process used to produce a stabilized or improved base course for asphalt overlays. The process begins with milling and sizing of existing asphalt. Then a stabilizing or rejuvenating agent such as foamed asphalt or asphalt emulsion is added to the milled material, which is then relayed using an asphalt paver and compacted to produce a strong, stable base course. Cold In-Place Recycling is a single lane, train operation, well suited to rural roadways. CIR uses a portion of the “in-place” materials of a roadway only adding a small amount of virgin asphalt as a stabilizing agent, greatly reducing the volume of new virgin materials required to build a quality project.
