Wholesome Foods specializes in delivering good food to our customers – fast. Owned and operated by the Pence family for more than 60 years, Wholesome Foods has evolved from home delivery of meat and eggs to full-scale food distribution, representing some of the premier food brands in America, including our own Old Dominion and Virginia’s Best brand products. We supply restaurants, chains, hotels, conference centers, schools and even home cooks, from Washington, D.C. to Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

As a wholesaler, we produce and package specialized cuts of meat, poultry and eggs for our customers. Then distribute them fast, keeping everything fresh, from our refrigerated warehouse to our fleet of refrigerated trucks, to our trackable, just-in-time delivery. 

As a retailer, families and fans can enjoy Wholesome Foods at our stores, the Wholesome Butcher & Deli, as well as BBQ chicken from our BBQ Pit. 

Online, Wholesome Foods products are available for delivery anywhere in the U.S., as well as home delivery.

Cooking Oil Collection

Wholesome Energy is an affiliate of Wholesome Foods. We provide used oil collection from restaurants and food processing cook plants, with capacity up to 6,000-gallon truck loads. We accept any type of a food-grade frying oil including soybean, canola, and animal fats. The oil does not need to be filtered or dewatered.

By recycling used cooking oil, Wholesome Energy helps contribute to the local economy, save on animal feed sources such as corn and soybeans, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and provide a cleaner environment with less emissions from biodiesel.
